Ed Rosenthal Super Bud is a 50/50 indica/sativa cannabis strain named after the famous High Times writer and cannabis expert. This plant was produced after many generations of breeding and selection for the desired traits. Even the sativa side alone includes geno-types from Africa, South East Asia, Central America and the Caribbean.
Ed Rosenthal Super Bud displays little pheno-typical variation with what differences there are being largely confined to bud formation and structure rather than any great difference in size or flowering time. Indoors plants will stretch about 150% (i.e. a plant that is 100 cm. tall when the switch in light schedule occurs will finish up at 150 cm.) and the flowering phase will last from 55 – 65 days. Outdoor growers in warm, dry climates (think Mediterranean or similar) should be able to harvest in late October through to early November in northern latitudes.
Buds have a density that is traditionally associated with indica plants and they are made even larger by the familiar sativa tendency to “run” and pile on calyx after calyx in all directions. The more sativa-leaning individuals will have many branches all with long pyramidal buds the weight of which can easily snap branches and therefore some form of support will be required. The indica-leaning plants will form more of a single cola structure, with far fewer side-branches, that will increase in size and compare with the size of a forearm. Buds are sparkling with a coat of snow-like resin crystals.
The dominant aroma and flavour is of pineapple punch. The effect is an award-winning combination of cerebral sativa and body-centered indica sensations.
